If you read my post in August about beginning my self-exploration series, then you know that as part of that, I joined a book club! If you haven’t seen or read that post yet, you can take a look at it here.
So in August, I joined a book club. The first book that we had to read for it was Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid. That was a good read, and nice that it was quick and not much thought had to be put into it. After years of grad and undergraduate school that's just the type of book that I am looking to read.
Anyway, so the book was a good read, the first meeting was lacking though. It was weird, and I think it lacked conversationally, and introductions. The first meeting was not the best meeting, and I was unsure if I was going to go back or not. But with my commitment to self-exploration and attempting to do more, I knew I had to give it a second shot.
The last Sunday of September was the most recent meeting, and it was the second shot for me and this book club.
The second time around, I enjoyed it. It was sort of like being in an English class, and everyone shared their opinions on the book, but it felt like it had gone a bit too quick, and I wish that it had lasted longer. It was interesting and fun to be able to discuss a book with others, and I am excited for the next meeting at the end of October. Self- Exploration assignment for August turned out to go well, and I am pretty proud of myself for that. I am hoping that the October meeting goes even better.
For October, my book club is reading City of Girls by Elizabeth Gilbert
