4 Ways to Handle knowing that you are the problem

So if you caught my posts last week, you would know that I posted a post titled, "Are you the problem.", If you missed it, you can find it here. As a follow up to that post, here are some ways to handle knowing that you are the problem.


1. Acceptance

As always, the first step is accepting that you are the problem. For some people, this can be a hard pill to swallow. Perhaps they never thought they it was even possible that they were the problem or personal accountability is a non-existent reality. For others, this is an easy thing to do. It may sting the ego a little bit, but accepting that they are the problem is doable for them.

Accepting that you are the problem is the only way to move forward and handle it.



2. Knowledge

The next thing you would want to do is gather knowledge. Learn about the ways in which you are the problem You can't fix being the problem if you do not know how you are the problem. The ways in which you are the problem. There are many ways in which you can be the problem, so you have to know which ways you are and then you can begin to consider how to fix it. For example, you could be a problem because you are too mean, or too nice, or you don't have boundaries with other people.



3. Fix

Once you can accept that you are the problem and gather knowledge on the ways in which you are the problem, the next step is to fix the ways in which you are the problem. Depending on what you gathered during the knowledge portion this can be an easy quick fix or it may be something that you have to work on a little bit more. In some cases maybe even work on yourself a little bit more, and that's okay.


4. Reflect and Reconsider

After you have fixed or are working on the way in which you are the problem, the last thing you do is take a moment to reflect on what you have learned about yourself and the changes that you have made in your life. The next step is reflecting on how you are maintaining the changes or not, what you need to do to continue to make the change to not be the problem anymore. Then reconsider, life is about reexamining and making changes in order to grow and keep going.
